On March 26, 2016 the Michael Johnson Foundation did it again. Hosting their 2nd Annual Car Show at Gas Monkey Live located at 10110 Technology Blvd E. Dallas Texas 75220 proved to be a huge success. Car collectors and enthusiasts gathered hours prior to registration seeking the best spot to showcase their automobiles. This year MJF really set the bar high. Not only was this event a great place to enjoy beautiful cars from all over the DFW area; but it proved to be a true family affair even including the four legged canines that accompanied individuals and families. There was an Amazing DJ, Bounce House, Easter Egg Hunt, on site Pet Vet, Agility courses for canines and much more.

The Michael Johnson Foundation tends to have a flare for attracting the likes of big name celebrities. Though everyone was anticipating this year’s list, they were not prepared for the actual turnout. Aside from Super Bowl winner and MJF Co-founder Michael Johnson, there was Aaron Ross, Byron Williams, Mike (Scooter McGruder) Ben Williams, and many more. We were graced with the presence of the talented and beautiful model, Drew Pearson show co-host, and ANE Radio co-host Mrs. Jennifer Reed. We spotted Slick Vic from Storage Wars, and the ever so brave military veteran Jason Morgan.

The events list of sponsors were Neupanex, Good Canine, American Dog Culture, Gas Monkey Live, and Lincoln Technical Institute. Many wondered what role Lincoln Tech would play as a sponsor but with the unveiling of the trophies, everyone’s question was answered. MJF has partnered with Lincoln Technical Institute (Grand Prairie Campus) and has truly brought Car Show Trophies to a new level. The top 25 winners were given uniquely designed and fabricated trophies made by the Lincoln Technical Institute Students from the Welding and CAD Programs. It is quite evident these treasures will undoubtedly garner more support and car entries for next year’s show.

The patriotic crowd was impressive. As a flag adorned truck circled the parking lot and stopped, the celebrity guests lined up near it as the one and only Imaj (daughter of Miami Vice’s Phillip Michael Thomas) belted a strong and moving Star Spangled Banner before the crowd.

There are many organizations and individuals who wish to make a difference in their communities but the Michael Johnson Foundation seems to have the right idea of turning a charity event into a way to benefit more than just their non-profit and those they support. “My wife Erin and I are so very thankful for each and every participant of our events. We garnered support from so many organizations like The Big Blue Wrecking Crew,, The Lions Club, our Student Volunteers and many more. Our hard work is all worth it when you know you are changing lives and communities. We are so very appreciative and humbled by the kindness, hard work, and generosity of Lincoln Technical Institutes Grand Prairie Campus for the captivating unique trophies. The staff and students there are truly talented and dedicated. MJF is definitely looking forward to working with them again in the future. Also Gas Monkey Live has supported and believed in our organization from day one. We are honored and blessed to have such a great relationship with the company and staff. To be afforded the privilege of having Michael Johnson Foundation Car Shows here is such a blessing. ~ Michael Johnson

There is no doubt we are all looking forward to what MJF will be doing next. I am certain great things will continue to come to and from the Michael Johnson Foundation Family!
